Raleigh

Population: 46,000+

Our Capital City! One of the fastest growing cities in the Southeast for decades. Home to North Carolina State University, the revitalized downtown area with it’s bustling night, life with restaurants, entertainment venues and a BOOM in condos and apartments. Raleigh has wonderful museums, including the NC Museum of Art and the NC Museum of Natural Science. With the number of technology and scholastic institutions around Raleigh / Durham / Chapel Hill makes the area known as the Research Triangle.

Durham

Population: 276,000+

Home to Duke University and it’s world renown medical center. Durham’s Historic downtown area with popular eateries. entertainment venues and the Tobacco Warehouse area.   The Durham Bulls Athletic Park is home to the Durham Bulls, the Triple A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays of Major league baseball. It is also home to the Duke University Blue Devils and the North Carolina Central Eagles college basketball team.

Apex

Wake County
Population: 58,000+

Nicknamed the “PEAK CITY” for its Historic train depot built in 1867 that has been designated a Wake Couty land mark. The depot’s location marked the highest point on the old Chatham Railroad hence the Townes motto- The Peak Of Good Living. The Downtown area was designated an historical district in 1994 and has many shops and restaurants along the streets.

Chapel Hill

Orange County
Population: 276,000+

Known to its natives as a “southern part of heaven”. Home to the University of North Carolina and Memorial Hospital, which are a major part of the ecovnomics.  The Ackland Art Museum which exhibits European and Asian art is located here as well as the NC Botanical Gardens, the Morehead Planetarium and Science Center. The main downtown area is Franklin Street with many shops, restaurants and bars to enjoy. The college life at UNC is a large influence here.

Hillsborough

Orange County
Population: 9,000+

Located only 20 minutes from Durham and Chapel Hill it is a location that many who do not want to live in a busy area attracted to go. Hillsborough dates back to before the revoltution making the town have many historical areas. including the Colonial Inn, the old cemetery as well as the clock tower.  It is located on the beautiful Eno River and there are many parks and greenways to enjoy. Most residence own their homes and enjoy the South Churton Street area of downtown  where there are many restaurants and shops. Hillsborough attracts many artist and writers.

Cary

Wake County
Population: 170,000+

This wonderful place has been my residence for four decades. Cary has grown from a small bedroom community to new the state’s 7th largest municipality. NORTH CAROLINA MONEY magazine ranks it as “ONE OF THE BEST PLACES TO LIVE”. It is centrally located in the TRIANGLE ( Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill) which makes it a very desirable place to work and live. Cary is home to USA baseball National Training Complex, the summer home to the North Carolina Symphony as well as the North Carolina Courage, a woman’s professional soccer team.

Holly Springs

Wake County
Population: 40,000+

Located south of Cary, Holly Springs has a wonderful growing downtown including many restaurants, and businesses- including Carolina Brewing Company and the Bombshell Beer Company. A place where southern Hospitality and rich history dating back to the civil war abound. Host to a number of tourist attractions including the Audubon Hummingbird Migration and Christmas home tours just to name a few. Holly Springs has many points of interest, including Harris Lake and Lake Wheeler, as well as Lake Wheeler Park, the NC Railroad Museum, and the Daniel Action Sports Complex- attracting BMX riders. It is a global manufacturing HUB in Wake County.

Pittsboro

Chatham County
Population: 4,600+

Known for its scenic urban environment and friendly people. Home of Jordan Lake which is a major reservoir and recreation area. The Chatham County Courthouse is an historic landmark. Located in the downtown area as well as many locally owned businesses to explore. Pittsboro is booming with the devolvement of Chatham Park, a recently healthy developed area of businesses and neighborhoods. Making Pittsboro one of the fastest growing areas in the state.

Fuqay Varina

Wake County
Population: 30,000+

Located in Southern Wake County, this town grew initially from a tobacco trade and agriculture area. The recent population growth and real estate development are mostly due to its proximity to Research Triangle Park. No matter where you live, a park is close to you, over 20 of them! The downtown area has wonderful unique shops, restaurants and live music! Including the FM2FV concerts which are kid friendly.
